What to do in Chilches in 2 days in winter

Blog publicado el Jan 22, 2026 por Olivia Jero

If you like the sea, you probably also like Chilches... even in winter. And we don't we don't say it just for the sake of saying it: here the breeze accompanies your walks, the sound of the sea is the soundtrack of your getaway, and in winter the calm and tranquility make it a perfect destination to disconnect.

So get your suitcase ready... because we tell you what to do on a weekend in Chilches to return with countless CampStories (the good ones).

Day 1

Beaches

Chilches' beaches are a Mediterranean paradise that you will have very close by staying at HolaCamp Chilches. They are ideal for creating CampStories of all kinds, and that is because, whether you are a sports lover or if you are a lover of tranquility, this is your ideal place. And even in winter they have something special, you don't need to bathe to enjoy them, since between the promenade and the swimming area there is a large esplanade with beach soccer play areas and volleyball nets, where you can play sports. In addition, Chilches offers a wide range of nautical activities all year round. Activities for all ages and with different levels of experience.

Although if you prefer, you can also sit for a while admiring the sea, listening to the waves or walking along the promenade letting yourself be carried away by the sound of the waves and reconnecting with nature.

The historic center

In the afternoon, walking around the historic center of Chilches is the best plan. In the center, there are places such as:

  • Church Street
  • The Plaza de Alfonso XIII
  • La Calle Arbelló, a pedestrian street with a unique layout.

In winter you can enjoy it even more: less noise, more calm and a more welcoming environment.

Chilches Marjalería

And if what you want is nature, write down this place: the Chilches Marjalería, is an ideal natural area for walking or cycling.
This protected wetland is especially surprising in winter because it is the favorite of many migratory birds, so if you prefer to spend the afternoon observing the typical vegetation and fauna of the area, this is the ideal place to experience the CampStories you are looking for.

Day 2

For your second day, we recommend three day trips to choose from, all within an hour (approximately) drive from Chilches, so that your trip is tailor-made.

Valencia

If you want to complete your trip with a different day, Valencia it's a total success in winter. It has a beautiful historic center, full of contrasts between styles Romanesque, Valencian Gothic and Baroque, and emblematic places, such as La Lonja or the Serranos and Quart Towers, which contrast with its magnificent beaches. In addition, you can round off the day with its impressive cuisine and leisure offers.

Castellón

Castellón is also an ideal city for a day trip. Its beaches are part of the Costa del Azahar, with orange gardens that will leave you breathless, wide walks that reach the sea, noble houses, medieval churches, a quiet environment and that Mediterranean air that you can feel even in winter.

These are the must-see stops in its historic center:

  • Co-cathedral of Santa María La Mayor
  • Old Casino
  • Hemp market

If in the afternoon you prefer a more panoramic plan, in the outskirts you can also visit Castell Vell, the Hermitage of Santa María Magdalena or the Alonso Tower.

And if you are a culture lover (or if it's cold outside) the Belles Arts Museum is your perfect plan. It is one of the oldest museums in the Valencian Community and revolves around a landscaped cloister, perfect for creating picturesque CampStories.

Its permanent collections are divided into:

  • Archaeology and Ethnology, with pieces from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages
  • Ceramics, with one of the most important collections (more than 1000 pieces on display)
  • Painting and Sculpture, with canvases by artists such as Ribera, Ribalta or Sorolla

Segorbe

If you want to completely change the landscape, Segorbe is an ideal winter plan. A town with a lot of historical importance, which linked Valencia with Aragon, and a charm that can be seen in its streets and in its environment.

Here stand out

  • Its gastronomy
  • The Cathedral Basilica
  • The Oil Museum
  • The Fountain of the 50 Pipes, one of the most emblematic corners of the region

Sporting events

And if what you like is sports, take note of these dates because if there is anything you'll find in Chilches in winter it's runs.

  • January 25: Castelló Half Marathon
  • February 8: Almenara Xtren, 17 km run or 8 km walk.
  • February 22nd: Castro d'Alfondeguilla Course, 18 km Trail race

Sign up and experience a different and adrenaline-filled weekend.
