Tips (water, shoes, sun and safety)

To be able to enjoy the routes without fear and with total peace of mind, we leave you with our HolaCamp recommendations:

  • Turn the route into a little adventure: Especially if you are going with children, stop for drinks, play or simply admire the views.
  • Going slowly also counts: You don't have to travel many kilometers to experience unforgettable moments. The important thing is not to go further, but to be well accompanied.
  • Wear just enough, but well thought out: You don't need much more than a light backpack and a desire to walk to live your best #CampStories. Water, some food, sunscreen and a cap to protect yourself from the sun, don't wear less, but don't wear too much.
  • Respect the environment (and others): Caring for nature is always part of the plan, don't throw away garbage and leave everything better than how you found it.
  • Not all routes are for everyone: Not all routes are for all rhythms. If you are going with children, the elderly or a pet, choose comfortable routes, with shade and the possibility of taking breaks.
  • Water, shade and breaks: Your pet or your companions also need to stop, sometimes, before you. Breaks don't slow you down, they help you recover so you can accelerate again.
  • Start early or finish late: Walk when the sun is soft. The landscape becomes more beautiful and you'll avoid the heat.

And if you are more into cycling than walking, don't worry, in our blog cycling routes near Sitges for all levels you will find our favorite routes for cycling.

Best time to go hiking

Fall and spring are the best times for hiking. Avoiding the most extreme weather months is always the best option when it comes to outdoor sports.

In autumn, the leaves change their color, the landscape changes, and everything takes on a more magical air. In spring, on the other hand, you'll enjoy a greener landscape and a bluer sea.

In summer you can also do routes, but you should avoid the central hours of the day, carry a lot of water and choose shorter routes or routes with shaded areas.
